I worked all day today on this final piece for this class! It looks amazing! I love the bright colors and the how realistic it looks! It really captures my theme- The photographic like qualities and the emotion you feel when you look at it. I'm really pleased at how it turned out :)
So, this is another piece for my theme! I've been working on it all week. I like the colors together, however I wish I made the flower of center! Also, I think it would look better more realistic.
All week I've been working on a reduction print of a flower for one of my theme pieces! I took a picture of a flower outside last weekend (also below) and decided to use that as my inspiration for this piece. The prints turned out really cool! It was my first time using the giant stamp (8" x 11.5") and i really liked it. I love how the multiple layers of colors overlap and create depth. I really enjoy the bright colored flowers, but then the simple yellow one, based of the picture I took, is really classy too.
Last week I had to take an upclose picture of a flower and paint it in a very Georgia Okeefe way. Below I have my picture I took and the finished painting! I think It turned out very nice, and I enjoy her style a lot. These will be hung up as a "collection" in City Hall!!
Started this in class last week! I finally finished this weekend. I really like how it turned out :)
Attempting to use pastel in a more artistic way! This was a sketch I just colored using pastels! Adding some surrealism by having the center of the flower be an eyeball!
I had to look at a shoe, draw it, and then turn it into an abstract piece of art! Below is the final pencil drawing, and what it looks like now after I finished! Done in pastel :)
Today we learned that are new focus is going to be on abstract art. I was instructed to draw my shoe and then somehow turn it into an anstract piece of art! Here are a few sketches I did today, I will post the finished project when I finish!
*First photo is of a whole shoe, second two are close up drawings. Still painting apples! All week i've been working on painting apples with oil paints. Its my first time I used this medium and I really liked how you painted a part of the apple one day, and the next day the paint was still wet! This allowed me to change or add colors the next time and the colors actually blended! It was nice to not feel rushed. However, I'm not sure I liked how thick it was! The apples turned out well, but I painted each apple individually. Next painting I want to work on painting painting "everything at once". I think That will make the painting blend more! Also, I need to add the shadows on the apples and fix the the shadows on the ground. Overall, I'm happy with the piece and I'm excited to paint something different than apples next week!
We have this week off of school and we have to still sketch and draw at home! I decided to still explore this new idea of painting apples, SO I went out and bought some watercolor paints (can you believe I didn't own any?!) and painted this this afternoon. First I left the background white, then I explored painting the background! I can't decide which I like better, So i'll let you choose.
